Meet Michelle Bernard
Proven Leadership for a County at a Turning Point
Rockdale County is no longer a small community navigating familiar challenges. With nearly 100,000 residents, sustained population growth, and increasing demands on infrastructure, public safety, housing, and county services, the decisions we make today will shape our county for decades to come.
I am running for office because this moment requires more than good intentions — it requires experience, discipline, and the ability to execute.
For more than twenty years, I have worked at the intersection of operations, finance, and leadership, managing complex systems, balancing competing priorities, and delivering results in environments where accountability matters. My career has not been built on political ambition, but on doing the work, solving problems, and ensuring organizations function effectively for the people they serve.
My professional foundation includes senior administrative leadership at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where I managed high-level operations that demanded integrity, discretion, and precision. In roles where budgets were real, timelines were fixed, and outcomes were measurable, I earned a reputation for sound judgment, fiscal responsibility, and follow-through — the very qualities Rockdale County needs in its next generation of leadership.
My experience is reinforced by a strong academic and professional background. I hold a Master of Business Administration from Saint Leo University, a Bachelor of Science in Management from Shorter University, a Paralegal Certificate from Emory University, and specialized training in General Management from Georgia Tech. This combination of business, legal, and operational education equips me to navigate the increasing complexity of county governance with clarity and confidence.
But my readiness to serve is not defined by credentials alone.
As a civic advocate, business leader, and proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., I understand that effective leadership is rooted in service, listening, and accountability. I believe government should work for residents — not against them — and that transparency, fairness, and measurable results are not optional, but essential.
I am running for office because Rockdale County deserves leadership that is prepared, principled, and capable of managing growth without losing sight of community, homeowners, and quality of life.
I am not seeking to learn on the job.
I am ready to lead from day one.
“I’m not running to be a politician. I’m running to be your public servant—accessible, accountable, and focused on results.”

Leadership Philosophy
Michelle Bernard believes leadership is not about position or politics—it is about responsibility.
She approaches leadership with a clear set of principles:
-
Accountability: Decisions should be transparent, measurable, and open to public scrutiny.
-
Fiscal Responsibility: Every tax dollar represents someone’s hard-earned income and should be treated with care.
-
Fairness: Government should serve residents, not burden them unnecessarily.
-
Results: Promises mean little without execution and follow-through.
Michelle has spent her career working in environments where outcomes were expected, not optional. She brings that same mindset to her campaign—focused on delivering real solutions rather than political soundbites.
Rockdale County is at a defining moment.
With rapid population growth, increasing demands on infrastructure and public safety, housing pressures, and heightened expectations for transparency, the county needs leadership that is prepared—not learning on the job.
Michelle Bernard is running because she believes Rockdale County deserves leaders who:
-

-
Respect homeowners and protect property rights
-
